Welcome to Manifest Differently, the podcast for neurodivergent thinkers and anyone looking to approach manifestation in a way that truly works for them. I'm your host, carissa Andrews, here to explore the science, energy and strategies that will help you create the life you love. Let's dive in and Manifest Differently.
Carissa Andrews:Welcome back to the Manifest Differently podcast. I'm Carissa Andrews, your guide to unlocking your unique manifestation powers as a neurodivergent creator. Today, I'm diving into one of the more powerful tools in my manifestation toolbox the mind movie. Now, this isn't just about visualization. It's about rewiring your brain, aligning your energy and stepping into the life you want. And here's the kicker it's easier to create than you might think. Mind movies changed how I approach manifestation entirely, and I've watched them do the same for my students as well. By the end of this episode, you'll understand why they're so effective, how to create your own and how to use them to unlock your highest potential. Plus, I'll tell you how you can join me next week to create your very own mind movie during my live Future Self Blueprint 5-Day Manifestation Challenge.
Carissa Andrews:Before we dive in, though, let's set an intention for this episode. Take a moment, breathe and focus on this thought. I am ready to step into the energy of my future self. Feel into that for a second. What does he or she feel like? What's the vibe there? Pretty awesome, right? Okay, let's get started. I want you to pause for a quick energy reset, just to ground in the present moment. Okay, I want you to close your eyes if it's safe to do so. If you're driving, probably not. Imagine standing in a quiet, open space. Imagine standing in a quiet, open space. In the distance you see a glowing figure. It's your future self. They're radiating confidence, peace and abundance. Walk toward them, feeling their energy, and notice how they smile at you. They're proud of the work you're doing today to align with this version of yourself. Take one deep breath in through your nose, hold it and exhale slowly. Keep this image in your mind as we talk about how to bring it to life.
Carissa Andrews:Mind movies came into my life years ago when I first stumbled across Natalie Ledwell, their creator. She was talking about using visualization tools to align with your goals and I loved meditations. I loved new age, everything at the time, and I thought it sounded intriguing. So I subscribed to her newsletter, followed her on social media and even tried a number of her meditations. But to be honest, I didn't take the leap into actually making a mind movie at that time. I think a part of it was for me. I didn't overly enjoy the mind movies she was creating, which is kind of dorky Like. When I look back, I'm like I don't have to create things the same way she did. But I think there was a perfectionist part of me. It was. I was much younger right at the time, and so perfectionism was a thing that I was still working through, and, as a previous graphic designer, I had already gone to graphic design school. I was looking at the movies that she was outputting and I was like those are kind of hideous, and it didn't occur to me just how powerful the tool itself was, let alone, you know, letting go of some of the things right. So it wasn't until I discovered Joe Dispenza that I realized how powerful this tool could actually be. So if you're familiar with his work, you know he's all about the intersection of neuroscience and manifestation. He emphasizes how visualization, especially with tools like MindMovies and, yes, he actually calls out MindMovies primes the brain for success.
Carissa Andrews:So at that point, obviously, I couldn't ignore it anymore, and this is literally years later. So I decided to try it for myself, and honestly, I wish I would have tried it sooner. The process was so surprisingly simple. I used Canva, which is obviously incredibly user-friendly, and created a short video with images that represent my goals, the things that I'm trying to manifest at any given time, affirmations that then resonated with me that go along with those goals and music that gave me goosebumps, that just really made me feel like I could do anything Right. It wasn't perfect. It wasn't as bad as some of the videos I'd seen from mind movies way back in the day, but the first time I watched it, something shifted right Suddenly my goals felt real, tangible. It was just a weird, strange movement of energy. I started watching it every morning right after I woke up and again right before bed. Sometimes I would do it after meditation, when I knew that my mind was kind of primed for it. And within weeks I noticed small shifts happening, like I was seeing things that I was trying to manifest At the time. They were smaller things, like I wanted to manifest a new refrigerator for our kitchen and I made it happen and I was like, wow, this is so cool. And then I tried to manifest money to be able to take a course and that happened. And the more things started showing up, the more confident and aligned I felt. And it wasn't just me either.
Carissa Andrews:As I started teaching this, my students started using Mind Movies and experiencing similar results. One student her name is Sarah. She came to me feeling really stuck in her career and she created a Mind Movie to focus on freedom, abundance, joy, you know all the things that I think all of us are really trying to tap into. But she made it very specific for herself. Like she got very deep into what that looked like for her, and I know that she was trying to shift out of a corporate job and do some some author work for herself and she wanted to let loose and kind of see what it meant to explore her creative side. So within a month she actually manifested a new job, which was very cool. It paid more and gave her more flexibility to be able to then do her writing. And we worked from that point forward, after she had this new job, on her author stuff. So it opened up so many possibilities and she's continued to work on her mind movies since then, refining them to get to the point of what she really wants. Right, because we have to remember, it's always a work in motion. It's always something that we're trying to shift towards and as we gain more knowledge, we can get clearer and clearer and clearer on what it is that we really want, and Sarah's been definitely one of those people.
Carissa Andrews:Okay so, krista, this is great, but why do mind movies work so well? And the answer, like I said it, lies in neuroscience. Your brain doesn't know the difference between vividly imagining something and actually experiencing it. Weird but true. When you visualize, you're creating a neurological rehearsal for your future, over time, your brain starts to accept this vision as reality and your subconscious mind begins to work to bridge the gap. Now the subconscious mind is where your beliefs, your habits and all those automatic responses live. It's like the operating system to your brain and it runs 95% of your thoughts and actions. But here's the thing it doesn't respond well to logic or forceful willpower. It acts like a petulant toddler when that happens. So instead, if you want to influence it, you do so through repetition, emotion and imagery. This is why my movies are so powerful, because they combine all three.
Carissa Andrews:The repetition part is you watching the mind movie daily to reinforce that vision, right? So when you watch it in the morning, or right after meditation or right before bed, you're reinforcing it over and over and over and you're not allowing your brain to forget that goal that you want so much. But it's also not something that you're clinging on to either, right, you're not clinging to it, you're just allowing it to get into your subconscious mind so that you know it's yours. Number two obviously, the emotion part. When you add music and those affirmations, it triggers an emotional response in you and it helps anchor your vision. And when you're watching the movie, the goal is to really be focused on how are you feeling when that thing occurs, right? How are you feeling when you know it's already happened, it's already yours, it's already here? How are you feeling when you know it's already happened, it's already yours, it's already here? And then the imagery part is all about having those visuals bypass the analytical mind and speak directly to the subconscious, because obviously we process visuals so much faster than we process anything else and so when you process the visual, you are putting it into your subconscious mind over and over and over again and allowing it to become part of that operating system. So let's talk about that timing, because it is key and I've kind of touched on it briefly.
Carissa Andrews:But the best times to watch your mind movies are number one. First thing, in the morning, when your brain is still in theta or it's coming out of theta slowly, which is highly suggestible to new ideas. And we've talked about theta states in other podcast episodes. But just know that that's the primal spot to be able to get into your operating system, aka your subconscious mind, and rewire some things. Number two right before or right after a meditation, when your nervous system is calm and open, and if your meditation is longer, like you're going to have definitely tapped into the theta brainwave state because you would have dropped into that super calm state. That's kind of the point of meditation.
Carissa Andrews:But if you do it as a solo meditation where you're not listening to any sort of guidance, you can do it right before that too, because then it's priming your subconscious mind as you drop in, so similar to sleep. The third one will make more sense here. It's right before bed, so similar to doing it right before meditation. If you do it right before bed, as you're transitioning into that sleep theta brainwave state, again you're priming your subconscious for what it's going to be doing during sleep. And as you go to sleep you'll find that often when whatever you're thinking about when you're going to bed, when you're going into that sleep state, it's what you're thinking about when you wake up, isn't it? So if you go to bed thinking about what you're manifesting, what you're creating, what you're calling in, your brain will be working on it during all the dreaming, all the rewiring, all the cleaning, whatever, and you'll wake up still thinking about what you get to do, how it's going to come, and then you go straight back into reinforcing it again by watching that my movie. Do you see how awesome that is?
Carissa Andrews:So just a little side note about theta brainwaves they're the sweet spot truly for rewiring your brain. They allow you to bypass that critical part of the brain and plant seeds of possibility directly into the subconscious. So whenever you can, you're going to want to be in a theta brainwave state for this. If you forget, I'll give you a little tip, a little hint, a little thing. If you forget any of those times you're like dang it, I got up too quickly, I forgot before I went to bed. Whatever.
Carissa Andrews:I love using binaural beats and I will put them in my airpods and I will have the noise canceling stuff going on in my ears and I will just do binaural beats at a theta brainwave state which is 4.0 hertz. And when you do that and sit quietly for a moment, you can kind of drop in, just kind of get into that calm state. You'll know you're there when you kind of feel expansive and calm but not yet asleep, and when you feel like there, when you kind of feel expansive and calm but not yet asleep, and when you feel like that, when you get into that state typically takes anywhere from two to five minutes of sitting still then watch your video, and your video is going to be, you know, anywhere from 30 seconds to three minutes long. It's not going to be a long video. So, from start to finish, you're looking at maybe 10 minutes of meditation and getting that into your subconscious mind, so it's not a long process. All right, so here's a quick breakdown of how to create your own mind movie. If you want visual cues, if you want to be a part of the process where I show you what's happening, how to create it step by step, you're going to want to make sure that you get in on the future self blueprint challenge that is coming up. Like I said, next week, february 3rd through the 7th. If you are listening to this episode and it's after that time frame, there will be replays going out. I will either be putting it up as a part of the NeuroDivergent Manifestor brand, so maybe it'll be in the Kajabi framework for everything that I do, or it will just be like a Zoom class. I haven't decided how it's going to be loaded for everyone yet, but there will be a replay available, okay, all right. So here's how we do it.
Carissa Andrews:Step one gather inspiration. So I want you to think about what you're calling in, what you want to create right now for this year. Okay, what images, affirmations and music represent your goals? Gather as much as you can Write them down. First, if you need to like write down what, what you're calling in, what it gets to look like, and then, if you want to like, literally, you're going to be thinking about where you're going to go and find all those images.
Carissa Andrews:So step two is to choose your tool. Like I mentioned earlier, I recommend Canva. It's free, it's easy to use, perfect for beginners and you can do everything right there. Now there are some tools that I use. I do have the pro version, right, so I don't know if there are some elements that I use that you don't. You'll have to play around with it and see how it works for you, okay.
Carissa Andrews:Step three add your visuals to Canva. I will have for my students in this challenge. I'm going to have a template so that you can just like find the images and drop them into the template itself Super easy. But if you want to, you're going to be uploading images that align with your goals. Right, you're going to create a template for yourself so that they are all standardized, and so these could be photos, they could be videos, they could be illustrations, they could be screenshots, all sorts of things. Like, all sorts of different types of things.
Carissa Andrews:Then I want you to step four write affirmations about the thing you're calling in. What does each one of those images represent? Okay, it's going to be a bold, positive statement. Like I am abundant, or I'm living my dream life. Or you get specific Like I am so at ease and happy that my husband and I are living our retired life finally in peace. Like you know, whatever. Like, if it's about your refrigerator, I am so excited and happy that I finally have my brand new refrigerator in my kitchen. Like, just get it as clear as possible. And if it makes you feel good, that's all it needs to be.
Carissa Andrews:If you don't know how to write the positive affirmation about it, go to chat and just say I'm trying to do this thing. I'm creating a mind movie. I need some really strong positive affirmations to go with each of the things that I'm manifesting. Here's what they are, and let it create a few for you, okay, so step five then is select music. I want you to choose a song that's going to inspire you and make you feel unstoppable. Now, with Canva, it has a whole bunch of music that has like a really powerful vibe. That's just music in the background.
Carissa Andrews:If there are specific songs that you want, like that have music, you're going to have to find out whether or not the creator allows you to use them. So kind of like with TikTok. Right, there's a set of music that is open to being able to be used for certain things, and if you want to be able to bypass that, if you wanted to add music to it, I think there are ways to be able to do that in iMovie, which would make it easier to create with the specific song you want. You know, let's say, you want a Taylor Swift song. I personally just like having really upbeat, like dramatic music that I don't associate with anything else, because then I can just focus on the thing that I'm manifesting and it works better for me. All right, so?
Carissa Andrews:So step six edit and then export. Right, you're going to arrange everything into the short, engaging videos and you're going to keep it under five minutes so that you can watch it every single day. Mine, like I said, I'm calling in a lot of things. Mine is only like a minute and a half, so it's very fast, okay. So here's your manifest differently minute. I want you today to take the first step toward creating your mind movie by brainstorming your goals, jot down your affirmations, find those images, think about a song that inspires you, or play around on Canva to see if you can find one. Even this small step will shift your energy toward alignment and toward your goals, because it's signaling to your brain, to your subconscious, to the universe, that you're working on something new. Okay, all right, guys. To wrap up, mind movies are an incredible way to align your mind, body and energy with your future self. They're simple to create, rooted in neuroscience, and transformative when used consistently.
Carissa Andrews:If you're ready to take this to the next level, please join me next week for the Future Self Blueprint Challenge. I'll walk you through this entire process of creating your mind movie, amongst other things. We're actually doing five days, and so there's five different types of tools for manifesting differently, and I'm going to show you how to integrate all of it into your life. Okay, so you can enter now at the founder's price, which is just $47. And you can sign up now at manifest differentlycom forward slash five.
